Join Dave Johnston and Colleagues from the Biomedical Imaging Unit (BIU) at University of Southampton for a screening of the cult, 1966 sci-fi film "Fantastic Voyage".

A team of miniaturised scientists are injected into a dying man to destroy the blood clot that is killing him - but one is set on sabotage. It was the the first ever cinematic representation of the insides of the body and won Oscars for art direction and special effects.

After the film, we will discuss how we use microscopes today and what they reveal about the film's scientific s accuracy - you might be surprised!

Accessibility: Expect darkened spaces during the movie screening. Venue has full wheelchair access and hearing loop is available. Priority seating for deaf, hard of hearing and visually impaired in the first front row. A few ear defenders will be available to borrow at the check-in desk upon entrance on a first-come, first-served basis.
