Embark on a journey through our 96-year-old charabanc's history, starting as a tourist bus in Llandudno in Wales, and forming part of the University of Southampton's incredible culture since 1958! Sit back, relax, and enjoy a retelling of the adventures of a bus that's as old as sliced bread, lovingly nicknamed "Toastrack".

The bus, a Dennis G charabanc, is one of only four that were ever built, and the only one in the world that's currently on the road! In the videos, you'll be able to see the work that students and alumni volunteers have poured into keeping Toastrack running. If you happen to have photos, stories, or memories of Toastrack from back in the day, we would love for you to share these with us at toastrack@soton.ac.uk

If that has piqued your interest, why not join us on Science & Engineering Day, and experience being aboard Toastrack first-hand?

Toastrack has been driven and maintained by University of Southampton students and alumni since 1958. Today, Toastrack forms part of a student society, with members across multiple disciplines working on the bus during their free time, all towards one goal: keeping the bus on the road for future generations to enjoy!
